What materials are used in the pet tags

Pet tags are made from a variety of materials, each offering different benefits for durability, appearance, and comfort:

Highly durable, resistant to rust, tarnish, and fading. Stainless steel tags (often 304 grade) are an excellent choice for active pets and those exposed to water, as they maintain their clarity and integrity over time.

Lightweight and available in many colours, aluminium tags are popular for smaller pets. Anodised aluminium is harder and more durable than plain aluminium, though still less robust than stainless steel.

Brass tags have a classic look and are sturdy, but as a softer metal, they can tarnish and may require occasional polishing. They are less suitable for pets frequently exposed to water.

Design and glitter tags often use a blend of these metals, with an epoxy coating on the front for added durability and style.

Some tags feature genuine Swarovski crystals for added style, or QR codes (on stainless steel) protected by epoxy for digital pet identification.

For the attachment, strong steel or brass split rings are commonly used to ensure the tag stays securely on your pet’s collar.
